A galvanized service line that was either ever downstream of a lead service line (LSL) or is currently downstream of a service line classified as “status lead unknown service line” under the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR). Galvanized service lines downstream of lead goosenecks, pigtails, or connectors are not considered GRR unless there was a lead service line previously located between the connector and the galvanized pipe.

Milwaukee is one of the few cities in the country with a prioritization plan to ensure neighborhoods likely to suffer the most severe impacts from lead poisoning get their pipes replaced first. In consultation with a community-based group, Coalition for Lead Emergency (COLE), and following a public engagement process, Milwaukee included in an ordinance three indicators to prioritize where LSLs will be removed first:
